Online Postpartum & Trauma Therapy for Dads and Couples in Wyoming

Specialized trauma support from the comfort of your home — no matter where you live in the Cowboy State

Specialized Support for Wyoming Parents, Without the Long Drive

Wyoming is beloved for its beauty and what it represents. Calling this great state home can also include the challenges of traveling long distances in order to pursue specialized care. Treatment tailored to the unique challenges of new fathers, postpartum couples, and birth trauma can be incredibly hard to find locally. Mental health care through The Held and Healed Club means you don’t have to drive hours to Casper, Cheyenne, or Jackson Hole in order to sit face to face with a professional who fits your needs.

Whether you stepping into parenthood from a rural ranch near Laramie, or seeking to process an overwhelming birth story in Sheridan, secure video Telehealth brings specialized trauma informed therapy directly to your screen.

Why Virtual Therapy Fits Your Postpartum Life

  • No Babysitter Required: Telehealth therapy removes the mental load and common barrier to receiving support of coordinating childcare. Utilize the convenience of stepping into the other room for your session while staying within reach of your family.

  • Zero Travel Stress:  Finding a time when two busy parents can leave the house together at times feels like an impossible task early on in their child’s life. Telehealth allows couples to log on from the same couch or even from two different locations. Save time and avoid unpredictable Wyoming weather.

  • Secure, Comfortable Environments: Meet through a secure, confidential, HIPAA-compliant video platform from your home. Process difficult birth stories or relationship disconnect from the comfort and privacy of your own space during nap time, or whenever realistically works for your unique schedule.

Focused Care for the Postpartum Transition

Paternal and perinatal mental health challenges can manifest as intense anxiety, anger, irritability, or a deep sense of disconnect. I specialize in helping individuals and partnerships navigate:

  • Paternal Transitions into Therapy:

Processing paternal postpartum depression, identity shifts, and the pressure to "hold it all together."

  • Birth Trauma Processing:

Utilizing virtual EMDR and somatic techniques to help both mothers and fathers gently release the painful edge of overwhelming birth stories or neonatal medical trauma.

  • Couples Counseling:

Restoring communication and intimacy when the imbalanced mental load of a new baby leaves you feeling like roommates or outsiders to each other.

Meet Preston

I’m a dad. I know what it’s like. I understand the quick turn arounds to work after a sleepless night with a new born. I know the weight of the pressure to continue to provide and to deal with your emotions on your own all while missing the version of yourself and your relationship with your partner you once had.

Anyone who has navigated the world of birth and parenthood would agree that the resources for dads are few and far between. I am looking to change that.

Many of my most formative years were spent living across different parts of Wyoming. I grew up spending family vacations in Jackson floating the Snake River and exploring Yellowstone. I often think of “The Wyoming Way” and what that really means when we hear it spoken.

In my opinion, we have drifted too far from the pure and traditional values of “togetherness, support, and community” and mistakenly interpreted the toughness that makes Wyoming so great as pressure to deal with struggle in isolation. While there is value in the idea of “Pull Yourself Up by Your Bootstraps”, what if allowing ourselves to be vulnerable in our struggles and to be brave enough to seek and receive help actually enabled us to show up as our strongest and most resilient selves?

Despite the pressure around you, if there is any part of you that feels ready to open yourself up to a new way of living, parenthood, and partnership that includes no longer carrying the weight of the world on your own, then reach out today for a consultation.
